The historic quay contains the current Port of Cork offices within a listed early 19th century building and a disused stone warehouse. As the bulk of port activity has migrated down river, the authority is to follow suit. The 200 year old Custom House and Bonded Warehouse will therefore convert into a hotel, restaurants cafes and bars, non-comparison retail, museum / visitor centre, offices and waterside promenade. The diverse new uses will revitalize Custom House Quay and largely contribute to the regeneration of the historic docklands.
